Guess someone at the GOI misread GDP for LPG! The former is abysmal and the latter is abysmillah! The price of domestic liquified petroleum gas (LPG) has crossed INR 1000/- today even Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have hiked the rates of cooking gas by Rs 3.5! This second hike in the prices means a 14.2 kg cylinder will cost INR 1003 in Delhi, INR 1002.50 in Mumbai, INR 1029 in Kolkata and INR 1018.5 in Chennai! Baaki sab apna apna dekh lo!

Earlier the price was hiked by INR 50 per cylinder. The price of commercial cylinders too is hiked by INR 102.50 and now will cost INR 2,355.50! The LPG prices have been steadily rising ever since the assembly elections were wrapped up with a slam dunk performance by the central government. Fuel prices were hiked too bit by bit, scraping the skin of the middle class by Rs 10 per litre within 16 days before freezing!
